Greetings! I’ve been thinking a lot about Father’s Day. Did you know that all who have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and placed their faith in Him are children of Abraham? He is the father of us all who believe (Rom 4:16). If you belong to Christ then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (Gal 3:28). He did not waver in unbelief at God’s promise but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God. He was convinced that what God had promised He was also able to do. Abraham believed God and His promise. Abraham took God at His word, and it was credited to him as righteousness. He believed and became the father of many nations according to what had been spoken.
Righteousness comes by faith not by the works of the law, rituals, or traditions of men. If our faith is earned by any means other than Jesus’ death it was for nothing. He did all the work for our redemption and justification. Salvation is by grace through faith…not be works so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Gospel is all about the work of Christ, His death, burial and resurrection. By proclaiming it you give people the opportunity to believe and receive it for their salvation. That’s what often happens when God is at work in someone’s heart. They are broken over their sin and recognize their need for God’s forgiveness and respond to the Good News.
His mighty hand is definitely on this ministry, and His powerful Holy Spirit is at work in many lives. Thank you for partnering with us at the Polk County Jail Ministry with your powerful prayers and financial gifts.
